From vines to wines

The vineyards stretches over a total surface area of  24 hectares, including 2,5 hectares of white vines.

For red wines, the grape varieties grown are typical to the Bordeaux region and are composed of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Carbernet Franc. They have a vine age of between 16 and 28 years. The vines are planted at a density of 5000 vine stocks per hectare and they have a wide leaf area. They are small in size and are gradually pruned into double Guyot.

For white wines,  Sémillon constitutes 25% of plantings,  Sauvignon 45 % and Muscadelle 30 %, with a vine age of over 30 years.

     An appropriate winemaking process

The yield is controlled to between 35 and 40 hectolitres per hectare, by means of drastic disbudding, which is then complemented by green harvesting and grassing down the lots.

The vineyard is run using integrated production approach based on organic viticulture.

Ripening is best achieved by thinning out the vine leaves and optimizing the time before the lots are harvested. Harvesting is partly manual, and sorting is done by hand to select the best grapes.
