The Château L’Enclos
Vineyards today boast 24
hectares of vines, mainly located on terraces. Soils are
varied, composed of chalky-clayey, sandy-clayey or boulbènes soils, which partly account for the quality of the wines.
The Château, with foundations
dating back to the 17th century, is surrounded by the winery and the storage
cellar which are housed in a structure that was built in the late 18th century.
Since late 2002, Isabelle
and Eric Bonneville, owners of the Château L’Enclos Registered
Designation of Origin - Sainte Foy Bordeaux Designation, and their
team have worked together to make quaffable and ropy wines.
Driven by a passionate
commitment to respecting the terroir and
traditional winemaking, they have resolutely adhered to integrated agriculture, yield control and fragmented winemaking
method.
These choices have required
huge human and financial investment and made it possible, over the years, to
greatly improve the quality of the grapes and wines.
The team has rapidly grown
from strength to strength with the added expertise of consultant Stéphane
Derenoncourt to assist with maximising the potential of the different terroirs of Château L’Enclos. This
collaboration has already yielded impressive results.
